PodMods Living to use Thin Film Façade Technology
PodMods living™ in association with its partners have been experimenting with bimodal compounds to create a new film type material using a Tungsten derivative for usage in adaptive high-rise facades, in order to achieve efficiencies in indoor environmental controls which has thus far, been a challenge to high rise living.
High rise living is becoming more and more common due to the scarcity of spaces and the rising water levels due to global warming.
The new material will reduce energy consumption for mechanical heating and cooling over the lifecycle of a building; working as a thin film absorbing heat and light in the Podmods living™ buildings.
This would reduce operating costs by minimising the size of condenser and fan coil units, and placing them at point source locations. We estimate the savings to be in the range of 30% during full production.
